Without getting into an existential crisis, I can briefly describe myself as a guy from the border town of Mexicali, Baja California Mexico that has been working as a Software Developer for more than four years doing Full Stack, Desktop, and Mobile projects (some of which can be found below).

I have a Computer Science degree from CETYS University Mexicali. During my undergraduate years I had the opportunity to do a semester abroad at the Ecolé Polytechnique of Montreal, Quebec for which I was awarded the Emerging Leaders in the Americas scholarship granted by the Government of Canada. I was also selected to participate in the International Summer Program for Entrepreneurs, an event organized by Stanford University and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico.

      Eco Car Wash

Project done for a car wash company in Baja California, Mexico.

The app tracks, follows, registers, and reports the cleaning life cycle in which a car might go through: the car entering the car wash, an employee being assigned for cleaning, and when a job has been finished.

The purpose was not only to report assistance and performance, but also to balance the workload by assigning the next jobs automatically among employees.

      Colour App

This project was done a few years ago as practice for Android Development

The goal of Colour is to be a minimalist color picker for your phone for when you're in need of picking a quick color reference for a project.

Look! It's the site you're on right now!

The site was done using React + NextJS, EmailJS, Bootstrap Grids, Google Fonts, and a few Font Awesome icons.

Fun Fact: The domain is called Giemper.com because of my full name initials.

      Posada 2016

Since high school, every year around Christmas Eve my friends and I organized a Secret Santa gift exchange among ourselves. While we all get along, there are sometimes when you just don't want to get matched with someone specific.

Starting on 2014, I came up with the idea of doing a site to help us with that conundrum. The site not only did the matching without ruining the surprise for anyone, but filtered out any 'incompatible' matches.

Every participant was able to create a profile, answer some questions about themselves to help their Santa, read the preferences and send anonymous messages to who they were supposed to give a gift to.

While we keep meeting for our annual Christmas party, sadly 2016 was the last year of our Secret Santa exchange. Maybe I should give this project another go soon!

      HRPoint

HRPoint is the intranet webpage for Collins Aerospace Mexicali.

Employees of Collins Aerospace can get into the site to check the latest news and happenings in our facilities, check a roadmap of their career development in the company, check employee benefits, find and fill request forms for things like Paid Time Off, check the weekly cafeteria menu, calendars, and inquiries with Human Resources, Finance, and Health & Security departments.

Some features and sections are locked depending on the management level, as they might have information and forms limited for exclusive use of supervisors, like requesting monetary rewards for employees based on performance.

The newsletter and content of the site is constantly updated by the Communications department by using a blog-like interface in which they can choose how the information is going to be deployed. It could be just a new post, it could be an announcement with a header image in the homepage, or a site-wide email.

HRPoint is available only in the Collins Aerospace internal network.
